Dawn’s Practice Areas
Dawn is very accomplished at family crisis management and has extensive experience in children’s mental health. She has spent many evenings with clients and their families in the ER providing support and completing crisis assessments. She has provided educational presentations and resources to families to help them better understand what is happening with their loved one and some of the challenging behaviours they are coping with. Dawn helps clients realize that they have special qualities that can make a positive difference in their lives. She also helps them believe in themselves and provides them with coping skills and strategies they can use in everyday life. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Training (DBT) and mindfulness-based therapies are just some of the effective treatment modalities she implements in her work.
Dawn is very passionate about her chosen vocation. Her resourcefulness and client-centred mindset motivates clients think outside the box to find unique solutions to address personal concerns. Through dedicated, innovative and creative approaches, she helps them find more effective ways to cope, and helps them build on their successes until they are accomplishing more than they ever thought possible.
